Chinchillas should be fed a variety of hays, leaves, flowers, branches and roots. Pellets should only be used as a supplement, not a main food source.

High sugar items like raisins should be avoided as chinchillas are very prone to diabetes

We buy our chinchillas Timothy Hay blend from https://haybox.club/collections/premium-hay

Avoid bagged pet shop hays because they're often poor quality

Pellets:

The vast majority of pellets on the market have poor quality ingredients that contribute to gut problems. Pellets should not have ingredients like soybean hulls, wheat feed, soybean meal or molasses. We do not recommend brands like Supreme/Burgess/PetsAtHome for that reason
