Mouse products we use and recommend
Main food brands:
We like to use Science Selective mouse food combined with a RatRations.com mix. We also quite like these other 2 types
We tend to use mostly paper based bedding for mice but occasionally use aspen (Aubiose) or Raviera.
Mice have very sensitive respiratory systems so shouldn't be kept on woodshavings.
Mice are great climbers so they really benefit from having the height of the cage filled with climbing opportunities like ropes, perches, hammocks, sputniks etc. They also really love tunnels on the ground (or cable-tied to the sides of the cage!) and plenty of houses. Also a good sized solid wheel like the 20cm Trixie one.
Websites/stockists we recommend:
Zooplus - Usually cheapest for toys, also has the JR farms food
Vet UK - Usually cheapest for treats/forage
VioVet - Usually more expensive than VetUK but stocks items they don't have (eg more of the Rosewood range)
RatRations - Great food mixes, natural treats (berries, nuts etc), stocks Finacard too
Finacard - Great cardboard bedding, we tend to buy it in bales for best value
We aren't affiliated with any of the above brands or websites, we just recommend them based on our own experience
