Dumped rats situation

We heard recently about a local population of rats who are breeding in a woods. Apparently a small group were dumped back in March and they've now bred out of control. People have been catching them and they've been sent to foster homes to receive meds in case of catching lepto from wild rats. Young females who could've been pregnant but not too far along have received Alizin injections (terminates early pregnancies) but there are also quite a few mums who were just a few days away from giving birth when they were rescued

It's going to be quite a while before any are available for adoption and when they're ready it will also depend on what (if any) travel restrictions are in place due to Covid
